DRAMA 406 A: Digital Cinema Production

This class consists of practical "on set" experience as well as film grammar and composition exercises.

Students interested in Drama 406 must demonstrate a working knowledge of one or more of the following:

* Proficiency and experience shooting digital video content on any contemporary devices such as:
Smartphone with cinema capability
Digital Camcorder
DSLR with cinema capability
HD cinema cameras.

*Capture and transfer of video materials to either PC or Mac computers.

* Basic proficiency with one or more of the following video editing software:

iMovie
Moviemaker
Final Cut (7 or X)
Adobe Premiere ( preferred )

Catalog Description: 
Explores applied narrative film grammar and cinematic technique. Covers operations of digital cinema equipment including cameras, cinema lighting, and editing software such as Final Cut Studio. Includes lab where students work in a professional motion picture crew structure to implement principles of cinematic narrative and gain experience directing actors on screen. Credit/no-credit only.
