This course is designed for the person who is planning to be a teacher or work with children.  This course will also provide you with basic skills for public speaking and business relationship skills. Learn to build confidence through collaboration, and improve communication/listening skills. For future teachers, you will learn how to use drama in your classroom as a tool to teach basic subjects and as a way to enhance learning.  We will explore and discover a variety of ways to use drama- from storytelling, performing text using the Book-It StyleTM, improvisation, music and movement.  We will explore performance techniques in class, attend plays and look at events in and around Seattle. 

Catalog Description: 
Topics in rehearsal and performance of theatre for young audiences; basic principles and techniques for using drama in the classroom; and creating original work for young audiences.
