The University of Washington School of Drama invites applications for an assistant professor, tenure-track position in acting, directing, and devising, to begin September 2020. This is a full-time position with a 9-month service period.
The ideal candidate has a solid body of work as an actor, director, and/or originator. They have familiarity with contemporary theatre and performance, an interest in the way theatre is evolving as an art form, and a facility with current modes of performance training. A Master’s degree (either MFA or MA) or equivalent professional training and experience is required.
Instructional duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate students both acting and the generation of original work. Other duties may include teaching/mentoring directors; working on devised projects, original works, and solo pieces; or directing/coaching in UW’s season.
