DRAMA 600: Pedagogy and Professionalization

Two threads animate this graduate-level tutorial. First: the study of pedagogy, including through Backwards Design and Universal Design for Learning. Second: the study of academic professionalization including understanding the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, preparing materials for the academic job market process (including negotiation) and alt-ac careers, and learning tips for academic success. Assignments include producing pedagogical materials (learning objectives, syllabi, assignments, lesson plans, lectures), and academic job market materials (Cover letter, CV, research statement, teaching statement, job talk, teaching demonstration, thank you notes).
