Valerie Curtis-Newton Wins Stranger Genius Award

Valerie Curtis-Newton, UW School of Drama professor and head of MFA performance, is the recipient of The Stranger's 2014 Genius Award in Theater. Curtis-Newton is the first theatre director to win the award! The Stranger Genius Awards celebrate local artists in five categories: Theatre, Visual Art, Literature, Film, and Music. This year's awards were presented at Seattle's Moore Theatre on Saturday, October 18.
