Celebrating excellence in teaching and mentorship at UW Drama.
We are thrilled to congratulate Assistant Professor Jasmine Jamillah Mahmoud on receiving the prestigious University of Washington Distinguished Teaching Award, one of the highest honors given by the UW.
Presented as part of the 55th annual UW Awards of Excellence, this award recognizes Professor Mahmoud’s outstanding contributions to teaching, mentorship, and student engagement within the School of Drama and across the University. Known for her passionate, inclusive, and intellectually rigorous approach to the classroom, Professor Mahmoud inspires students to explore bold ideas while centering equity and care.
The UW community will celebrate this year’s awardees at a public ceremony on June 12 at 3:30 p.m. in Meany Hall, hosted by President Ana Mari Cauce and Provost Tricia Serio.
