YJ/丘茵茵 (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist from Skokie, Illinois. They've studied Bel Canto and Musical Theatre voice at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign under Yvonne Redman and Sarah Wigley. After their time at UIUC, they stayed and taught preschool-3rd grade and general music in Urbana and became heavily involved in Central Illinois' community theatre, eventually serving on the board of The Station Theatre in Urbana. They had the honor of working with Smitha Vishveshwara, Stephen Taylor, and the late Latrelle Bright on The Joy of Regathering (2022) and Quantum Voyages 4.0 (2025), presenting the latter at the American Physical Society's Quantum Jubilee in Anaheim in March of 2025. They have experience working with Autistic individuals and training in restorative practices in the classroom. They strongly believe that every single person is capable of creating art and are thrilled to deepen their understanding of Acting here at the UW. When not in Hutchinson Hall, they can be found volunteering at/attending theatre productions around Seattle or hanging out with their cats at home.
