The first installment of this year’s State of Theatre series will feature an accomplished panel of local, Latinx theatre practitioners in conversation with longtime Seattle Times theatre critic, lecturer, and author Misha Berson.

Latinx theater artists and companies are having a vibrant resurgence in Seattle today. This panel conversation and open discussion with several artists who are active on the Seattle scene will consider the roots of Latinx theater, and its aesthetic trends and influences,  past and present.

Panelists: The panel will include Rose Cano, Artistic Director of ese Teatro; Fernando Luna, Artistic Director of Latino Theatre Projects; Jose Amador, actor, director, and writer, and Monica Cortes Viharo, actor, educator, and UW Drama PhD student.

This event is free and open to the public.
