UW School of Drama Alum Richard Nguyen Sloniker Featured in The Seattle Times

Richard Nguyen Sloniker (MFA Acting, 2009), a graduate of the University of Washington School of Drama, was recently featured in The Seattle Times for his work as a leading actor in Seattle’s regional theatre community.


Sloniker is currently appearing at Village Theatre as Sherlock Holmes in Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery. The Seattle Times article reflects on his career and the range of work he has built across stages in the region.


Over the past several seasons, Sloniker has appeared frequently at Taproot Theatre, including roles in Murder on the Links, Merry Christmas, Jeeves, and Black Coffee. His recent work at Village Theatre includes Dial M for Murder, Sense and Sensibility, and his current role in Baskerville.


A member of Seattle’s theatre community for more than a decade, Sloniker’s career spans classical and contemporary work, comedy and drama, and long-term collaborations with artists and institutions across the region. His path reflects the professional practice of UW-trained actors working consistently in the field.
