Biography

Erica Nerbonne is a doctoral candidate in Theatre History and Performance Studies at the University of Washington. Her research explores the intersections of performance, theatre, and medicine, focusing on how illness and care are represented and reimagined through theatrical and embodied practices. Drawing on methodologies from the medical humanities, ethnography, and performance studies, her work considers how performance can both document and disrupt dominant narratives of health, identity, and belonging. Erica also has several years of experience in university writing centers, where she has supported writers across disciplines and developed a strong commitment to accessible, collaborative pedagogy.
