Apply to the Undergraduate Program:
BA in Drama
To apply to the Drama major, applicants must first be accepted through the University of Washington's undergraduate admissions process. There are no additional requirements to begin taking courses in the School of Drama. However, admission to drama major status requires completion of Drama 201. Intended drama majors must meet with the Drama Advisor and add their name to the intended majors list.

Apply to a Graduate Program:
All graduate applicants must meet minimum admissions requirements established by the UW Graduate School, and must submit an application for graduate study for your selected program. For more information about application requirements specific to your program of interest, please review the links below. If you have further questions, please contact the Graduate Program Advisor.
*Attention URTA applicants: Attending URTAs does not guarantee a callback with us. You are welcome to contact us and let us know you are interested in our programs. However, if you want to guarantee an interview, it is best to apply directly to us before the URTA unified auditions. If you plan to attend URTAs and have questions about whether to submit a direct application, please contact the Graduate Program Advisor or the Head of the Area you are interested in applying to.

Our PhD program is at the forefront of critical theatre and performance studies in America, with a highly respected national profile. The School of Drama has exceptionally close ties to the Seattle theatre community. Our faculty and alumni have founded or currently hold leadership positions in many of our region's (past and present) theatres, including ACT – A Contemporary Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Washington Ensemble Theatre, Jet City Improv, and Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
During the School’s main stage season, patrons meet emerging MFA and undergraduate artists on campus in the Meany Studio Theatre, the historic Glenn Hughes Penthouse Theatre and the Floyd and Delores Jones Playhouse.
