“Good conversation is just as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after,” says a not-too-ancient proverb.

School of Drama faculty Nikki Yeboah, Jasmine Mahmoud, and Odai Johnson share recent scholarship on women and performance, followed by conversation. Coffee provided.

Coffee and Concepts: An Ongoing Conversation
The School of Drama has relaunched Coffee and Concepts, an interdisciplinary discussion series that brings scholars, artists, and community members together to share work-in-progress and recently published research on performance across media, cultures, and histories.

Events will take place throughout the 25/26 academic year and are open to the UW and Seattle communities.

Each gathering features brief presentations followed by conversation, inviting audiences into the thinking that shapes performance onstage and beyond. Coffee and Concepts Series-a series facilitated by Stefka Mihaylova, Associate Professor of Theatre Theory and Criticism.

If you have questions about this series, please contact Stefka Mihaylova at stefkam@uw.edu.
