The University of Washington School of Drama celebrated significant achievements at the American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR) Annual Meeting. This year, the conference was held in Seattle, and the University of Washington School of Drama proudly served as a sponsor. Faculty, students, and alumni made their mark, sharing innovative research and earning accolades that showcase the depth and breadth of our community's talent.
Here are just a few highlights:
- Chris Goodson, (PhD Alum, 2017) Leading the Seattle Academy speech and debate team, Chris guided the team to nationals. Read more.
- Amna Farooqi (PhD Student): Winner of the prestigious Helen Krich Chinoy Dissertation Fellowship.

The weekend also included a special gathering hosted by our Theatre History and Performance Studies program. On Saturday night, we welcomed 30 guests—current students, faculty, and alums from across the field—to a dinner at Harbor City restaurant in Seattle. It was a memorable evening of connection and celebration.
