Biography
Jyana recently returned to Seattle after two years living in Japan. She was a Visiting Researcher at Waseda University, Tokyo, on a Japan Foundation Doctoral Fellowship during the 2013-14 academic year. From 2012-13 she studied on a Blakemore Freeman Fellowship for Advanced Asian Language Study at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Study in Yokohama, Japan. In 2013 she was also awarded the Thomas Marshall Graduate Student Award by the American Society for Theater Research (ASTR).
