Biography

A Midwest transplant to the Pacific Northwest, Leah is a storyteller, theatre director, arts educator, and producer.  Locally, she has directed for Strawshop, Seattle Shakespeare, Sound Theatre Co, Pony World, Seattle Public, Intiman, and others.  As a creative arts educator, Leah is committed to the power of theatre and story as a catalyst for community and change.  She teaches locally for several institutions including Cornish College of the Arts and the University of Washington among others.  Leah is the founding Artistic Director of Off Road Shakespeare Company;  a troupe of artists, activists, and clowns that perform plays for audiences in transitional housing spaces, shelters, recovery spaces, community centers, and public libraries throughout King County. When not teaching or making plays, Leah is a balanced dog trainer and spends her time re-connecting dogs with their people.  Leah holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in  Theatre Arts and Theology from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, and an MFA in Directing from the University of Washington.
