Red Emptiness: Islam, Politics and Performing Arts in Indonesia

A performance and symposium with Black Umbrella Theater Group

You're invited to witness Black Umbrella Theater Group (Teater Payung Hitam) perform Red Emptiness, a rebellious exploration of the mystery and intricacy of bodies of terror. Black Umbrella hails from Bandung, Indonesia, where they have been creating cutting edge theater since 1982. The performance will be followed by a panel discussion between the director, Rachman Sabur, and scholars of Indonesian theater.
