Many congratulations to Matt Smucker (MFA Scenic Design 2002), who has been nominated for a 2015 Stranger Genius Award in Performance. In its profile, the Stranger says, "Smucker conjures physical environments that seem to perform alongside their actors—they have a sense of movement, even when they're not moving."

His set designs for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Seattle Repertory Theatre, and The Pillowman and Eurydice at ACT Theatre were cited in the profile.
