This past weekend, members of our Professional Actor Training Program, led by Moises Castro (PATP 2016) self-produced the musical Pippin. The goal of the project was to work towards "creating our own independent theatre space." Creative entrepreneurship is one of the core values of our undergraduate and graduate programs. It's something the Undergraduate Theater Society demonstrates every day. We're excited to see our PATP students put it into practice. You can read more about the project here.
MFA director Sean Ryan tackles Joe Orton’s masterpiece of dark farce. Set in London in 1965, the story revolves around the members of the McLeavy family and the events surrounding the death and subsequent burial of the family matriarch. As Mr. McLeavy grieves his wife's passing, his son Hal schemes to hide the profits of a bank job he has just pulled off with his sometime boyfriend, Dennis.
As outrageous as it is entertaining, Loot’s hilarious depiction of a world gone mad displays Orton's talent at its subversive best.

On Monday, November 9, the artists, friends, and patrons of Seattle's Group Theatre gathered to celebrate the rich legacy the Group left on the Seattle, and greater national, theatre community.
Former Artistic Director Tim Bond directed, with assistance from Rafael Molina, William Hall, Jr. (founding member of the Group) and AJ Friday (current PATP student) in Athol Fugard's Sizwe Banzi is Dead. Group members came from near and far. After the reading, everyone who had worked at the Group gathered on stage for another group photo.
We continue with the Lost & Founded series this winter. See more details here.
