We recently celebrated the amazing career of our retiring Executive Director Sarah Nash Gates. Friends, family, colleagues, alumni, and community members all gathered at the Jones Playhouse to honor and share memories of Sarah and the tremendous impact she has had on our school, our students, and our community.
It was a lovely, raucous, and emotional evening! And we also made an exciting announcement:
One of the many ways we have worked to honor Sarah’s legacy is by establishing the Sarah Nash Gates Endowed Graduate Student Support Fund. This will be a permanent fund supporting graduate students in acting, directing, design, theatre history, and theory and criticism. The endowment will reward high-achieving and deserving students and help the School of Drama recruit outstanding candidates into its graduate programs.
Through generous donations of our Advisory Board and longtime friends of the School of Drama, we have already raised more than $65,000! Thank you to board member Therese Barnette for spearheading this effort.
But, there’s still more work to be done and now we are thrilled to invite our entire School of Drama community to join us in this endeavor.
Please consider making a donation in honor of Sarah. Your donation, no matter the size, will go a long way to supporting the work and the students to which Sarah has devoted her career.
