Mackenzie Bounds (she/her) is a 2nd-year PhD student in Theatre History, Theory & Criticism at the University of Washington. Her research interests are primarily located in the 20th and 21st centuries, and pertain to the intersections between theatre/performance and new media: recent areas have included "theatre in the dawn of the metaverse" (AR/VR) and technophobic drama. Secondary interests include pop culture, musical theatre, dramaturgy, critical theory, affect, and performance theory. As a theatre educator and dramaturg, she has worked with the education departments at Sarasota Youth Opera, Baltimore CenterStage, and Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. Mackenzie is currently serving a two-year term as a Grad Liaison on the Executive Committee of Mid-America Theatre Conference.
