Syllabus Description:

DRAMA 365: Women of Color and Queer of Color Theatre

Explores theatre and performance practices by women of color and queer of color practitioners.  A study of concepts including intersectionality, women of color feminism, queer of color crtique, minoritarian, quare studies, and indigenous feminisms will frame queries into specific theatrical and performance examples. Likely texts include Cherrie Moraga’s Watsonville: Someplace Not Here; Robert O’Hara’s Bootycandy; Chay Yew’s Whitelands, as well as works by Zora Neale Hurston, Adrienne Kennedy, and Toni Morrison.
