Syllabus Description:

This course is designed for the person who is curious, has a passion or wants to learn more about teaching, education, theater and the arts, and/or seeking to strengthen public speaking and business relationship skills. Build confidence through artistic collaboration and improve communication/listening skills. For future teachers, you will learn how to use drama in your classroom as a tool to teach basic subjects and to enhance learning. We will explore and discover a variety of ways to use drama- from storytelling, performing text using the Book-It Style® improvisation, music and movement.  We will explore performance techniques in class, attend plays and look at events in and around Seattle.

Catalog Description: 
Topics in rehearsal and performance of theatre for young audiences; basic principles and techniques for using drama in the classroom; and creating original work for young audiences.
