Syllabus Description:

This course is designed for the person who is curious, has a passion for or wants to learn more about teaching, education, theater, and the arts, and/or seeking to strengthen public speaking and business relationship skills. Build confidence through artistic collaboration and improve observation, communication and listening skills. For future teachers, you will learn how to use drama in your classroom as a tool to teach basic subjects and to enhance learning. We will explore and discover a variety of ways to use drama- from storytelling, performing text using the Book-It Style®, improvisation, music and movement.  We will explore performance techniques in class, attend plays and look at events in and around Seattle. 

 

Catalog Description: 
Topics in rehearsal and performance of theatre for young audiences; basic principles and techniques for using drama in the classroom; and creating original work for young audiences.
